Rhizons 2.5 mm, the standard size Rhizons for pore water sampling
The standard Rhizon models all have a diameter of 2.5 mm and a mean pore size of 0.15 µm. They can be used for sampling pore water in pots, vessels or cylinders filled with settled soil, or directly in undisturbed cores.
New: Rhizons with pore size of 0.6 µm

Each Rhizon type is available in 4 varieties:
- with a 5 or 10 cm porous part - using Rhizons with a 10 cm porous part, the yield of water is approximately 4 ml/minute
- with a male luer lock, suitable for creating a vacuum with needles + vacuum tubes, or with a female luer lock, suitable for creating a vacuum with syringes

Rhizon SMS, for analyzing macro elements
Rhizon SMS are samplers used to collect water for analyzing macro elements, however they are not suitable for analyzing metals. They can be used in disturbed soils, lab, greenhouse, and in the upper layer in the field. Rhizon SMS samplers have a SS 316 strengthener wire which can be bent permanently. All Rhizon samplers are sold per set of 10.

They are used to collect water for analyzing macro and micro elements, dissolved gases and DOC. All Rhizon Flex samplers have a nylon wire as strengthener. They have to be positioned during the filling of pots or cylinders. All Rhizon samplers are sold in packages of 10.

Sampling accessories for pore water sampling
Before you can take your samples, you will need additional accessories to create a vacuum. This can be either a syringe or a vacuum tube. For field experiments, extension tubing might be useful.
