MacroRhizon

MacroRhizons are especially developed for field research. They have a porous membrane with an outer diameter of 4.5 mm and a pore size of 0.15 µm. MacroRhizons are only available with female luer lock, suitable for creating a vacuum with syringes.

For sampling the top layer of soil (0 – 10 cm), we recommend to use 19.21.31 or 19.21.32. These samplers are easier to handle and they come with a short extension tube which leaves you more room to leave the syringe. 

For sampling at greater depths, we offer MacroRhizons on PVC pipe. It is recommended to install the MacroRhizons at 30 to 45 degrees in an augured hole. This prevents rain water to flow alongside the PVC pipe and directly into the membrane. So keep this in mind when deciding upon the length you need for your research.
